In recent congressional hearings, DEA Administrator Michele Leonhart failed to recognize that marijuana is a safer substance than heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamine. It is a well established fact that marijuana is impossible to overdose on, and it has minimal physically addictive properties if any at all. This is in stark contrast to the aforementioned harder drugs.
Being unable to identify marijuana as a safer substance than heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamine clearly indicates Ms. Leonhart has a fundamentally flawed understanding of the effects of drugs. For this reason, she is unfit to be the Administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration and must be removed from office.
