Remove Michelle Leonhart from her role as the head of the DEA for her advocacy of marijuana criminalization

Created by R.B. on May 12, 2014

Ms. Leonhart is a career law enforcement officer currently serving as the administrator of the DEA, taking over in 2007 during the Bush administration. While serving in her role, she has repeatedly moved from a position of executive - taking the actions required by law under her job and moved aggressively into advocacy - she has refused to support the Smart Sentencing Act, has publically countered the policy direction of Eric Holder and the President and has continually advocated for legislative positions that are well outside her role and responsibility. We need a DEA administrator that is both an effective law enforcement administrator, but also one that is aligned with the political leaders elected by the people. It's time for her to go.
