Remove Military Bases from Allied Countries

Created by R.S. on June 15, 2013

With a military budget larger than the next 14 countries combined and an increasing national debt, we need to reduce our defense spending without jeopardizing our safety. One way to do this is to remove our overseas military bases, specifically ones that are in allied nations.

Why do we have over 100,000 troops in Germany and other countries that pose no threat to our national security, even though they are capable of providing adequate defenses themselves?

At the same time, we would improve our relations with our allies and other nations since we are not occupying their homelands. If we would condone our enemies for having overseas bases, why should we be allowed to do the same?

It’s time to end this unnecessary practice and start fixing our national debt and foreign relations.
