Remove Mine Resistant Vehicles from University Police

The 1033 Program, a federal program that allocates military equipment to local law enforcement, distributed 6 MRAPs (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles) to university police across the United States. These universities are Ohio State University, Florida International University, NM State University, Texas Southern University, University of Texas, and Saddleback College. MRAPs were designed for protecting soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan from roadside bombs, and have no place on campuses. The Department of Defense gave no requirements for training, or how the vehicles can and can't be used. On campuses that can have tens of thousands of students, it does not make sense to use a vehicle that holds around 12 people for safety. They only harm the relationship between students and police.
