We the people ask the federal government to Change an existing Administration policy:

Remove the Moynihan Report from the Department of Labor site, it is not worthy of informing public policy.

Created by M.S. on October 11, 2016

The Negro Family: The Case For National Action was written by Daniel P. Moynihan, a sociologist serving as Assistant Secretary of Labor in 1965. The report is riddled with faulty research leading to inflammatory and false conclusions about the character of African American people and the values of their families. What is most troubling is that the report is still used by our government today to inform policies that determine the level of accessibility that African Americans have to jobs. The following link will still lead to the report on the website of the Department of Labor. https://www.dol.gov/oasam/programs/history/moynchapter4.htm

Herein lies the purpose of this petition: our government should no longer treat Moynihan’s report as science, worthy of being cited in policy decisions.
