We the undersigned request that J. Edgar Hoover's name be removed from FBI Headquarters. History has shown clearly that Director Hoover's conduct in office was unethical and injurious to civil liberties, including blackmail of public figures, intimidation and unlawful invasions of privacy. Continuing to honor his name on the headquarters building damages the reputation of the agency.
