I believe to seal records of Non-Violent/Non-Larcenous Drug convictions from public record after (10)+ years without repeat conviction, is important to the general outlook of the rehabilitation process of the youth.
Many youth, specifically African American and Hispanic, are often convicted of Misdemeanor and or Felony drug possession between the ages of 18 to 21 the first time.
A lifetime label is a harsh label for anyone to bare, especially for a crime that was self inflicted and caused no direct harm to anyone else but themselves.
By providing an opportunity for the record to be sealed from public record after (10)+ years, it will facilitate reassimilation into the work force, strengthen long term optimism and motivation for those trying to repair their public image.
