Lifting the crude oil export ban will give consumers relief at the pump by reducing the global price of oil, create jobs here at home, help states that rely on oil severance taxes fund priorities like education, reduce the trade deficit, and improve our geopolitical fortunes by making the world less reliant on oil from rogue states and human rights violators.
It makes no sense to keep the ban in place when independent experts say that lifting the ban will do nothing but help us.
If Iran, a country which supports recognized terrorist organizations, can export oil, there is no reason America should not also be able to use this geopolitical currency.
