The phrase "One Nation Under God" in the pledge of allegience which is semi-mandatory for every student in America is in direct violation of the First Amendment. It is indirectly declaring Christianity and all its denominations the official religions of the U.S. Having this phrase prevalent in public schools alienates children who are followers of minority religions that may or may not believe in Christianity's god. In order to secure freedom of religion to all, the phrase must be taken out of the pledge posthaste.
