Remove or Replace Columbus day as a Federal Holiday.

Created by N.R. on October 19, 2013

Christopher Columbus was a brutal racist oppressor who did not "discover" the new world. His lust for gold fueled the perpetration of inhumane acts against the natives including rape, torture, disfigurement and murder.
His deeds are not worthy of commemoration in a federal holiday and he should be remembered as a monster, not a "brave" explorer.
Columbus day should be replaced or removed entirely from our list of federal holidays as his legacy is not one that should be embraced.
