Pretty simple; no more pennies, round up to the next 5 cents on transactions, stop weighing people down with copper clad zinc. Time and energy saved makes up the difference in cost.
The government can also stop creating a coin worth more in metal than in monetary value and save money from cost to produce the one cent piece.

This is a debatable topic but I think that the pros far outweigh the cons.
Lincoln still gets to be on the 5$ and I am pretty sure that he would be fine with us doing this anyways.
