The penny is costing an average of 1.7 cents to produce while it is only worth 1 cent. Therefore it is absolutely crazy that we are still making the penny. The myth that is would cost anybody money has been debunked by Australia and Canada, among others. It is a very simple task, round payments ending in 1, 2 to 0. Round 3,4 to 5. Round 6,7 to 5 and round 8,9 to 10.
