Former presidents, senators, and congressmen serve a very limited, and sometimes very short time in office, yet they reap more benefits from that short time, than people who work for the same company for 25 years. I don't believe it is fair for a person who is elected to office to be paid large sums of money each year just because they served a single term in office. Our founding fathers wanted elected officials to serve their nation by doing the duties entitled to their elected office, then resuming their normal work after their time in office ran out. Not to spend the rest of their lives supported by the government.
Take care of the deficit.
Remove undeserved pensions.
