Within the last 6 months to a year the Department of Veterans Affairs have printed Veterans's full Social Security numbers and photo on their in-patient and emergency room arm bands. If these are not properly discarded by the veterans (i.e. shredding), such information may be used to steal and damage their identification, credit, etc.). Veterans' informations are also seen on their prescriptions (bottles, boxes, bags, prescription info pages, etc.). Information such as partial Social Security numbers, can attract identity thieves, leading to ruined credits and identity. In order to protect those that protect us, the Department of Veterans Affairs need to come up with a way to limit access to their information.
