Remove the "petitions" feature from the White House website.

Created by H.M. on January 13, 2013

Although we believe that President Obama's effort to enhance access to the government with online petitions was well-intentioned, extremists have hijacked the "petitions" feature of the White House website to use as a platform to generate free publicity for their petty grievances and personal vendettas. This abuse of the petition process cheapens the precious right "to petition the Government" as guaranteed by the First Amendment, turning it into some kind of social-media popularity contest. Because many other avenues exist for citizens to advance legitimate petitions, we respectfully request that the President remove this feature from the White House website.
