Like special interest groups have their hands in the pockets of politicians, the pharmaceutical industry has their hands in the pocket of the FDA. Pharmaceutical companies fund over half the FDA. Also, most FDA commissioners move on to work and lobby for pharmaceutical companies. I do not believe a regulating authority, such as the FDA, should be funded by the industry it is supposed to be regulating. This creates biast decisions. Washington has been a good example of that. There are alternative, natural, inexpensive practices for numerous diseases such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease and many more.
