remove the phrase "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance, in accordance with the First Amendment.

Created by L.T. on February 22, 2013

The Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution begins, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion. . . ."

Yet the language of the Pledge of Allegiance includes the phrase "under God."

While numerous court cases have reviewed this issue, the simplest solution is to remove the language in question.

By removing the phrase "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance, we can eliminate much of the controversy associated with the activity, while maintaining the spirit and purpose of the Pledge.
