The Pledge of Allegiance in its entirety has gone against the basis of American ideals and Freedoms.
While the "Under God" portion of the Pledge has always been widely debated especially recently, it is only one of multiple issues within the Pledge itself but is the main focus of this petition.
"Under God" refers to a nation which has no separation between church and state, and when "God" is used in public schools daily across the USA, religious freedom is greatly impacted.
When a student chooses to not participate in the pledge, he/she is looked down upon by fellow children as well as teachers in many circumstances. Even though the reality is that a child who chooses to not participate in the Pledge is only standing up for their freedoms more.
