WE THE PEOPLE request that the President immediately and strongly direct the Secretary of the Treasury, Jacob J. Lew and the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, to replace President Andrew Jackson from the face of the $20 bill.
It is true that most of America's early presidents were slave owners and/or "Indian Killers," but Andrew Jackson was by far the worst as his policies directly caused the removal and death of over 46,000 Native Americans and a legacy of cultural genocide. When plotting the Holocaust, Adolph Hitler studied and implemented many of Jackson's techniques.
America cannot, in good conscience, call herself "a leader of the free world" and the world's social justice champion, while we ourselves honor a man responsible for the death of thousands of Americans.
