We the people ask the federal government to Change an existing Administration policy:

REMOVE THE REMINDER OF OPPRESSION, THE MISSISSIPPI STATE FLAG.

Created by J.F. on June 08, 2016

The Mississippi state flag currently depicts the Confederate flag. The confederate flag reminds all Americans that people once fought to have slaves. That flag represents racism and slavery. Many African-Americans live in Mississippi and are currently being represented by a racist symbol. That flag does not represent "southern history". The truth of southern history are slave holders that rebelled against the Union. The state of Mississippi should not have to be cursed with such an offensive flag. It's 2016, and it's time that we change that flag and give Mississippi a flag to be proud of.
