Remove the requirement of Reflex Reflectors for Passenger Cars and Motorcycles (49 CFR 571.108)

Transportation safety is a serious issue. There are many things we can do to help ensure the safety of drivers, passengers, and pedestrians. Requiring passenger cars and motorcycles to be equipped with reflectors is not one of them. In daylight, the reflectors are useless. At night, the lamps of a running car will illuminate itself, as well as other parked cars. At most, the only requirements should be for two reflectors on the back of the car (red or white in color). I am not familiar with the requirements of other nations, but it seems many survive very well without Amber reflectors on the front corners. It is embarrassing that we require them and it makes the cars ugly. Please change Table III of 49 CFR 571.108 for passenger cars and motorcycles, Reflex Reflectors, to "Not required".
