Remove Sen. Marco Rubio as chair of the committee on Oceans, Atmosphere, Fisheries, and Coast Guard overseeing the NOAA.

Created by A.V. on January 16, 2015

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) is not qualified to hold the chair of the subcommittee on Oceans, Atmosphere, Fisheries, and Coast Guard, which oversees the NOAA or any other committee with a basis in science.

Since becoming a US Senator, he has become a prominent climate change denier, using tired and disingenuous excuses, such as stating "I'm not a scientist" to declare he couldn't be sure the earth wasn't only 6,000 years old. In addition, he has evidently confused religion and science to the extent it is hard to know whether he honestly believes what he says or merely finds it politically expedient.

Regardless, a person who has no problem saying he denies the role of human-generated pollution in the changing climate has no business being in charge of NOAA.
