The National Firearms Act was created in 1934 due to organized crime robbing banks with Tommy Guns and Shortened Shotguns. This would have been useful for the times but now seems unnecessary to modern day shooters. We do not have guys like John Dillinger and Baby Face Nelson running around robbing banks and going head to head with police officers anymore. Our police force has overcome these types of criminals and I would believe that a shorter rifle and suppressor only hamper the weapon's performance instead of increase any of its capabilities other than maneuverability and reducing hearing damage. I think it is past due to remove these unneeded items from heavy regulation and unnecessary ATF agent paperwork to keep an eye on them.
