The full Social Security number is shown on Medicare Cards. With all the identity theft issues why would a government program continue this practice?
The major insurance companies no longer show the full Social Security number. Nor does the receipt from the convenience store on the corner. Should a purse or wallet be stolen, the thief has a goldmine of information. Any office clerk can copy this number.
Surely there is a way to remove the number completely from the card or only show the last 4 digits and make millions of seniors safer.
