remove social security numbers from Medicare cards, and replace with generic numbers

Created by J.M. on December 11, 2012

15,000,000 identity thefts occur each year.
We are encouraged not to carry our Social Security cards. They are to be put into a safe place.
We, seniors, are not able to obide. We are required to carry our Medicare cards at all times. The cards display our complete Social Security number.
We must present our cards at every medical facility we visit.
Our Social Security numbers are available, therefore, on many medical computer systems.
Our Medicare cards numbers must be changed to a random number, as other major medical insurances have already done.
The cost of identity theft far exceeds the cost our government would incur to make these changes.
We demand that Medicare change the numbers immediately.
