Remove Sole Executive Authority for the Launching of Nuclear Weapons

If the U.S. decides to launch nuclear weapons it will create chaos and devastation across the globe. Not only will it obliterate the recipient of said attack, but it will also trigger retaliation to this country. The current president-elect has demonstrated he does not have the temperament appropriate for someone in this position of power. His severe lack of empathy, level-headedness, and remorse for his actions is a dangerous combination that threatens mankind as we know it. It is absolutely imperative that we have a system of checks and balances in place for perhaps one of the most influential actions on the face of the earth. If we have learned anything from history, the ability to destroy civilization should not lie in the hands of one person
