We urge the government to consider removing sound suppression devices from the NFA lost of restricted items under the reasoning that they are specifically items that do nothing but make a firearm more safe by reducing violently loud muzzle blast to a reasonable sound level. Contrary to beliefs seen in movies there is no way to "silence" a firearm. Individuals that enjoy going to gun ranges for practice and sport shooting both greatly benefit from the improved safety standpoint of having your hearing protected from the firearms on either side of you literally deafening you every time they pull the trigger. They also make for safer gun use not only by reducing decibel levels, handguns with suppressors are now twice the original size and impossible to conceal. They are firearm safety devices.
