remove standardized testing from schools and emphasize social/emotional development and a child's mindset/habits.

Created by D.W. on February 07, 2013

In America, we spend so much time in schools trying to fit all students into a one-size-fits-all model of education. We test the same way. Politicians then use these testing numbers to show how much they have "changed" the schools. Yet, families are broken and more kids struggle personally than ever before. What if we widened our focus? Schools should test and emphasize teaching habits that successful people use--persistence, flexible thinking, responsible risk taking-- in the real world when faced with problems and tasks. We should make standardized testing around social/emotional growth. Change what we test!
