Remove standardized tests not required by No Child Left Behind and use those funds to reduce class size in Washington.

In 2001 President Bush signed No Child Left Behind (NCLB) into law. NCLB required standardized testing in at least one subject every year from grades 3-12. The United States currently spends 1.7 Billion dollars every year on Standardized testing and 24 million in Washington alone, though not all tests administered in Washington State are necessary to meet the requirements of NCLB or to graduate. In order to become compliant with Washington State In 2014 Washington state voters passed Initiative 1351 which required the reduction of class size. This initiative requires an additional $387 million, a portion of which could come from removing standardized tests that are not required for high school graduation.
