Remove standardized treating from our schools and allow our children to truly learn.

This is a petition to remove standardized tests from our schools in an effort to improve teacher retention and bring creativity back into the classroom. Our children deserve to learn skills that will carry them through life. Test taking skills alone will not ensure a successful future for the next generation. A recently released national study conducted by professors at Arizona State and the University of Texas at San Antonio found no evidence linking high-stakes testing pressure with student achievement. In addition, the results indicate that increases in testing pressure actually lead to higher dropout rates.
