Remove the statue of Andrew Jackson from the White House Lawn. His genocidal crimes against Native Americans warrants it

Created by E.K. on February 14, 2013

I am asking that this petition be signed and considered in regards to removing the statue of President Andrew Jackson from the White House Lawn. His crimes against Native Americans is well documented. Namely the Indian Removal Act that was in direct opposition to Supreme Court Rulings that the removal of the southeastern tribes was unconstitutional. His disregard for an entire race resulted in what is now known as the Trail of Tears that left thousands of Native American women, children and men dead, and separated them from their land. His image represented in front of the White House is profoundly offensive to the Indigenous people of the United States. It is puzzling, offensive, ignorant, and thoughtless to continue to display a monument to a mass murderer on the lawn of the White House
