The Obama Administration needs to remove the finding of suicide from all government records regarding Yemeni citizen Adnan Latif, who died at the U.S. military base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba after ten years in captivity, and after having been found by the U.S. Judicial system to be eligible for immediate release three times during his captivity.
Adding insult to the cruel and unusual abuses Adnan Latif suffered at American hands by calling his death a suicide betrays the ugly turn away from justice that America has taken under the Obama administration. Reparations to his Yemeni family must be paid, as well.
Changing his cause of death and paying reparations would be one small, honorable step in what has been and continues to be a dishonorable chapter in United States history.
