This is a petition for the absolute and unconditional removal of the superdelegate system in the Democratic Party.
For all of you that are unaware of the issue, please allow me to fill you in. Superdelegates are different from regular delegates as they are allowed to vote independent of what the actual people of their state want, essentially creating a undemocratic distribution of votes.SuperDelegates are NOT under any obligation to represent popular votes.
Superdelegates were instituted by the DNC in response to the McGovern campaign, the DNC claimed this was added so less powers would be given to "party leaders", this is a complete falsity.The superdelegates give monumental power to the higher ups.
Therefore we MUST GET RID of superdelegates, and give the power back to the people.
