In the wake of the June 26th ruling for marriage equality, there are entirely too many people and religious institutions that are already openly declaring their opposition to the Supreme Court's ruling. This is not based purely on religious belief but on their individual prejudices against the civil rights of others. However, these churches are declared as non-profits and exempt from paying taxes. When an institution fails to follow the law, they should no longer be exempt from paying taxes. We need to stop rewarding hate and stop forcing tax paying citizens to foot the bill.
