Remove the 'tax exempt' status of churches as they are engaged in politcs to the point of creating laws.

I feel that churches have enjoyed a tax free exemption because they functioned soley as a religious entity and did not immerse themselves in a way to either create law or effect law. They are now actively engaged, even in their church services, of extracting money for their political interests and/or trying to influence the vote of a proposed candidate. I believe that church and state shuld remain seperate but in the present climate IT IS NOT. Churches, especially Catholic and Mormon churches are actively engaged in politics. These tax exemptions were allowed under the premise that they are non-profit. In the sense they are receiving monetary gains in one form or another, their tax exempt status should be removed. In the guise of tithings, taxes are being avoided by politicians.
