In this time of massive government budget shortfalls, is it right to maintain the tax-exempt status for Mega churches. The heads of these churches live the life of celebrity status earned from the money donated from hard working citizens that have little to give. The position of tax exemption is a promotion of government support of religion. Moreover, the money taken in is used in contributions to political campaigns of candidates that seek to exert their moral authority over the masses. This fosters corruption and should be re-evaluated.
