Churches do not deserve tax exemption. They still use our roads for folks to attend, they use our police for protection of their property, and they use our fire departments to save them from fires. It makes no sense that these businesses are exempt from paying the same tax that all other businesses pay. In the case of religious hospitals and other church operated businesses they are given an unfair trade advantage because of not paying taxes.
It is time to repeal the 1960 law that made churches tax exempt.
