In the 1970's, the supreme court decided to exempt churches from paying taxes. Some people find the current law unconstitutional and want a repeal of it. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof". Churches do free service to those in need and other useful services but that doesn't mean that they deserve to be exempted from taxes, what about other non-profit organizations? Decide whether or not you find it constitutional or not.
