President Obama talks about raising the minimum wage to nine dollars an hour. There is one way to lift a whole segment of the population out of poverty. Most people I know in the service industry works two jobs and still can't make ends meet. If you took the taxes off of tipped employees would work this way. If a person who is working two jobs can make enough money working one, it would open up the second job for someone else to take. That means there are more people contributing to the economy, which means more revenue. People will do better at their jobs as they are not exhausted because they don't have to work 60 to 70 hours a week and can afford to pay their bills.
It is an easy way to lift one whole segment of the working class out of poverty.
