Remove the term "marriage" from the legal vocabulary and replace it with another term so as to equitably meet the requirements of the Constitution (specifically Amendment 14 ) and return the term to the non-legal use as a description for a religious rite, exempt from federal and state regulations (as per Amendment 1).
Also that the license used to legally designate the union of consenting adult American citizens for reasons of survivorship, mutually held property, child custody, medical power of attorney, and any other domestic issues be uniform in application for all Civil Unions, religious Marriages, and an other legally recognized domestic partnerships.
