Before taking office, President Obama pledged to work towards net neutrality and anti-discrimination rules. Not only has he failed to keep this promise, he appointed a FCC chairman that openly opposes net neutrality and is working to craft rules that allow for traffic discrimination.
As a former lobbyist for the cable and wireless industry and former president of both National Cable Television Association and Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association, it was irresponsible to appoint Tom Wheeler as FCC chairman. Please put a stop to the May 15 FCC vote on the new "net neutrality" rules and appoint a chairman that takes a more nuanced and fair view of the health and wellbeing of the internet and online services.
