"Under God" is clearly in conflict with our supposed secular government values. It also clearly promotes monotheistic religions in a society that is pluralistic. The pledge ought to be changed to the following,
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic foe which it stands, one nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all."
