Remove the Upper Peninsula of Michigan from the State of Michigan and grant it the status of the 51st State.

Created by A.P. on December 07, 2012

The Upper Peninsula contains 29% of the land area of Michigan but just 3% of its total population. Residents are frequently called Yoopers (derived from "U.P.-ers") and have a strong regional identity. Allow them to secede from the State of Michigan to become the 51st State of the Union.
