Remove VHA authority to "flag" veterans as violent patients, and place that power in the hands of Federal Police.

Created by D.P. on March 20, 2014

Currently, Title 38 USC 17.107 allows for the Veterans Health Administration to place restrictions on the time place and manner in which a veteran receives healthcare, if that veteran is classified as violent by the VHA.

It allows petty and vindictive VHA staff to remove eligible veterans from receiving the healthcare they deserve. This author was so labeled within days of having obtained a Restraining Order by a Circuit Court Judge, and having it served on a VHA employee within the VISN-20, Roseburg, OR, VA HCS. The VHA cited the Restraining Order as a prime reason to label this author Violent and Disruptive.
This author's own VHA psychiatrist has refuted the label in the medical record. It's bogus, put there in retaliation. Take this authority out of VHA hands! Put it into police hands.
