Army Fort Gordon is named after a Confederate General, John Brown Gordon, a white supremacist who became the head of the Georgia KKK and later served as a Georgia Senator and Governor.
We petition the President to issue an Executive Order removing the name of the white supremacist "Gordon" from the Army Fort and renaming the Fort after a real hero, similarly named abolitionist, John Brown, a great man who had moral courage enough to call slavery evil, who had moral sense enough to see slaves as fellow human beings, and who had moral strength enough to fight for liberation.
Army soldiers of all colors work, worship, serve, live, fight and die together. Honor them by renaming the fort after someone who fought for what was right: Rename what is now Fort Gordon as "Fort John Brown."
