We live in a time when more and more citizens hail from diverse religious and also many diverse non-religious backgrounds. It is important to consider the negative aspects of focusing on a single religion and its principals in government business, namely the obvious conflict with the constitutional concept of separation of church and state. Many Americans (in ever growing numbers) indentify as non-religious. The time is now to make the adjustment and change back to the pre 1956 motto of "E Pluribus Unum" or "out of many, one" which truly represents the United States of America without being partial to a single group or religion.
By many estimations some 30% of Americans, nearly 100 million of us, do not trust in God. The national motto and our currency need to reflect that.
