The words "under God" were added to the Pledge of Allegiance in the 1950s in response to the "Godless" Russians during the Cold War. We are beyond those times and God does NOT belong in our pledge. Not everyone believes in God and it is not the government's job to recognize the existence or non-existence of a God(s). Remove the words "under God" from our Pledge of Allegiance and recognize the limitations placed on government by the Constitution.
