Whereas, the words 'under God' effectively negate the following word in the Pledge, 'indivisible', by dividing our Nation into Believers and Non-Believers, and,
Whereas, many Americans do not believe in the existence of supernatural beings and are therefore marginalized by the words 'under God',
Therefore we the undersigned, in order to strengthen our national unity and reduce friction between our citizens, do petition the President to make all efforts necessary to remove the words 'under God' from the Pledge of Allegiance.
