Remove the words "Under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance and Revert our Nations Motto to "E pluribus unum"

Created by C.B. on December 12, 2012

The goal of this petition is to bring attention to and change the National motto from "In God We Trust" to the original "E pluribus unum" (out of many, one), as well as removing the phrase "In God we trust" from the pledge of allegiance.

This is a reasonable request because regardless of religious orientation, these phrases represent a breach of the first amendment, which states that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion. . . "

This is not intended as an attack on religion-it is merely an attempt to undo the damage done by the "Red Scare" of the 1950s and 60s that caused a fearful overreaction to the "Godless Communists."

Please help support the separation of church and state in our wonderful country. Thank you for your unbiased, rational consideration.
