Senator Robert Byrd was a long standing member of the Ku Klux Klan and is on record as being a recruiter for the KKK. He was a long serving member of the U.S. Congress. His history of membership in the most notorious racist organization is evidence enough to remove his record and name, and all benefits from government records. Further, all images, portraits, and statues of Senator Byrd should be removed from public property. Please stand with me to remove this racist icon and recruiter for the KKK from honorable mention and status in our government.
